Nua Healthcare Services Officially Opens its first CLaD Hub in Kilcullen

We are thrilled to announce the official opening of our first CLaD Hub, which took place on a sunny Tuesday afternoon on the 23rd of April in Kilcullen. This wonderful milestone for the team was attended by Dr Matthew Patrick, Chairman of the Board, and Alan Rosenbach, Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Clinical Governance Committee, who flew over especially for the opening event. They were joined by senior management, the Kilcullen CLaD Hub team and facilitators from the other CLaD Hubs along with members of our Service User Committee from both ID and MH services.

CLaD Hub Kilcullen is facilitator-led and delivers training/curriculum programmes with a focus on literacy, numeracy, digital literacy, health & wellbeing, independent skills, play and art therapy. It features a well-equipped classroom, a separate coffee dock, canteen & social space for breaks and informal interactions, and a series of polytunnels where attendees can gain hands-on experience in cultivating plants for sale, maintaining vegetable gardens, and carrying out general maintenance works.

To officially launch the first of five CLaD Hubs, the team hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony, symbolising the beginning of many new opportunities ahead for the individuals we care for. After the formalities, attendees were welcomed with scones, tea, sandwiches and lots more delicious treats, thanks to the team at Teach Folláine. The Service User Committee members were particularly impressed by the facilities, expressing an eagerness to attend programmes and activities at the Hub as soon as possible.

CLaD Hub Kilcullen demonstrates our ongoing commitment to innovative, curriculum-based learning opportunities that support the growth and development of our individuals both inside and outside of Nua Healthcare Services. We look forward to hearing all the latest from these new facilities over the coming months. To find out more, please email cladhubs@nuahealthcare.ie
